    When I upgraded my tank, I removed the egg crate under the sand bed. Didnt like the idea of some of the sand being trapped in the squares and wondered if it effected the aerobic bacteria towards the bottom of the sand bed.

    yeah I think about that too actually, but with the depth of my sandbed I doubt I have much going on

    About an inch. I giant fat 7 inch melarunus never has issues in my other reef.

    Mainly i was to just place my two islands I have made so I can see what to do with the third. My electrical team is coming out tuesday to wire up all my stuff I need and then I can fill her up.

    I don't recall ever hearing about a tank failure from stacking rocks directly on the glass. Never had an issue myself, and the 300 is BB with some big rocks.

    w/e Jerry. lol. point taken. Maybe im extra nervous because I can slide a piece of paper under one corner and I think the added point pressure with cause it to shatter.

    lay down a couple squares of acrylic large enough for your rocks to sit on. I put 1/8" acrylic in the bottom of my 29 when I ran it as a mantis tnk as a safety precaution, but will server the same purpose.
