protein skimer not workin help

hello 3reefers im new and i noticed about 3 days ago my skimmer was acting funny like it wasnt getting as much poop and bubbles in it so i woke up this morning lookd at it and no diff just a lil bit of bubbleing going on like usuall 4 the past 3 days then i went down stairs came back and it was overflowing like mad water runnin all over my bio ball box and a bunch of bubbles all over i took it out look at it seemed fine. i turned the nossle that gives the pressure and off pressure and it didnt do nuthing it just kept over flowing my dad ses that there may be sumthing clogged up in where u can block and unblock water comeing out so i got it going and its ok but its sytill a lil bit to high and is overflowing lil bye little with bubbles i cant turn it down any more then what it is its all teh way down i dont get it has anywon ever had this problem??????????

It might be a clogging problem.

Or, have you added any chemicals into the system right before this happened? any meds, or reef supplements (if so, which ones and how much)

Also, has anyone just cleaned around the aquarium? and did they use any cleaning chemicals.

Have you tested your water after this happened?
