Protein Skimmeer, need advice plz!

So I have a small 10g tank and I want to get a protein skimmer. I have a normal glass tank. I know for the nano cubes they put the protein skimmer in the back compartment where the filter is.
Since I have a glass tank where everything is exposed, would it be okay to have a protein skimmer out and exposed?

yea, you would just use a "hang on tank" model

So its safe for a protein skimmer to just hang in the water where fish might bump into it?

 

something as simple as a Rio Nano Skimmer, google that. should do just find for such a small tank. cheap too.

some have pumps that go inside the tank as well which is also fine.

 

Yes, the pump goes inside and is safe. If you have small fish a guard can be put on the intake of the pump. This one looks interesting; Red Sea Prizm Hang-on Protein Skimmer If you go a little larger some day it could still work.

I went ahead and bought the rio nano protein skimmer. I get it on friday. I ordered it from a site called Pet mountain. It was a good site
