Protein Skimmer missing collection cup lid

Hello everybody I am new and had a question.

I bought my protein skimmer used, but when driving home the lid for the collect cup flew off and I don't know the exact make of the skimmer, but it looks just like the ASM ones. The only difference i see is the neck for the collection cup is longer and my lid doesn't have a locking thing like the ASM ones. It also has 2 build on pumps which are the Sedra pump (3500). Does ASM have an older model? The guy I bought it from said he has had the skimmer for a while now.

Would be great if someone could help so i could get a new lid or mayb make something to cover it. Thanks

Parts of that are definitely an ASM. I've never seen a neck like that so it may be a mod or it may just be a model I've never seen before. I think your best bet would be to contact them directly. All Seas

If you can't get a top for it you can just drill a hole in the bottom or the lowest part of the side and put a drain tube on it, then it will never over flow.

When I look at the ASM it looks exactly but just different collection cup. Does anyone know if they had like a older model?

 

OK, curiosity is getting the better of me. How'd the lid fly off? LOL

 

I'm curious what All Seas Marine said. On most of their models, the lid isn't just to stop skimmate from overflowing. The ring in the lid is integral to the skimmer working properly.

 

I left the skimmer in my trunk in the bed and it just flew off.. So without the lid it would not work properly?
