I have a CPR Bakpak scimmer on my Mantis tank and have never really been happy with it. I do not think it is very effective as a skimmer.

an AquaC remora with maxi-jet 1200 should be fine for that tank. It's a pretty good hob skimmer, slim design, & will do the job. I had one on a 55g and it worked well and was pretty quiet. I did eventually upgrade to a Deltec MCE600 which was an amazing HOB skimmer but it's also around $400+ more than the AquaC: AquaC Remora Hang-On Protein Skimmer

I have been using a SEACLONE model 150 for eight years and it has worked very well on a 50 gallon
