    just be happy your skimmer is working :confused:

    in seriousness, get an overflow cup for the skimmer. the phyto shouldn't be floating around on the surface anyway.

    :lol: nope. it doesn't work like that. it doesn't stick to it, it has to be actually held in place to get stopped. If you employed such a fine floss that it would collect phyto, you'd be changing it numerous times a day as it would clog very rapidly.

    I work for the worlds largest producer of marine phytoplankton concentrates. If it were that easy (and trust me, we've down more tests then I care to remember) we'd employee that method and not the much higher cost methods we currently use. We have 2.5 million gallons in production. We use floss to keep major particles out of certain areas, but it's useless for stopping phyto.
