    Hello everyone,

I am just starting my tank and everyone said I needed a protein skimmer. I purchased the Sea-clone 150 and set it up. My question is that it seems to put off alot of bubbles into the water. When I adjust the air flow it seems to be all or nothing. Any suggestions on what I should be seeing to get it working properly.

    Thanks

    Deron

All skimmers will take about 48-72 to fully "break in"... Until then the skimmer will spew all sorts of bubbles into the tank. Unfortunately with the Seaclone the way it is designed all those bubbles end up in your tank, no bubble diffuser or anything.

After the first couple days it will be fine.

Oh and let me ask you this.... There is fish in the tank right? How long has the tank had animals in it?

    Happy skimming!

The tank is only about 1 week old with just a few damsals. Very low bioload.

Im going to use your thread :) haha same topic

, just started a tank not to long ago, couple months have a few fish. bought a sea clone took like 3 days to break in and i was skimming that thick green sludge.. did the modifications to it yesterday and it seems to be skimming better..... i think..

bubbles will go away... tighten it all the way closed (no air in) then unscrew 1 1/2 times and that seemed to be the best for me

IMO, shouldn't skim until after you cycle.
