Can't go wrong with the AquaC Remora with the maxijet 1200 pump. It's a hang-on skimmer, and it works great up to about 90 gallons. Not sure as far as an in-sump model...people seem to like the Octopus brand...

You might find more information and more informative people in the 'Protien Skimmer' section of the forums.

Do you have a sump, or are you looking for a hang-on skimmer? As far as hang-ons go, I do hear good things about the Aqua-C remora pro. As far as in-sump ones go, there are lots of good ones. Just be sure to get one rated at least 2x the size of your tank. For example, if your tank is 46g, get a skimmer rated for at least 92g. Skimming is one area where you don't want to skimp.

I am looking for one for in the sump, but I am not opposed to a hang on one. Just looking for something that will take this stuff out of my tank.

Check out the Aquamedic Turboflotor 1000. Can be used either in sump or hang on. Sounds perfect for you.

Aqua C Urchin is a sump model of the Ramora. I ended up picking up an Octopus nw110 or 120 for my 55 gallon and it works flawlessly.

The water level in the sump does effect how dry my skimmate is but it isnt too noticable. Supposidly the urchin doesnt matter as much due to the way it produces bubbles.
