Hi, I've had my bicolour pseudochromis for 2 months plus, and he'd always been really REALLY healthy.

Until I put him into a breeding container a few weeks ago (because he was bullying my damsel and goby, planning to transfer him to a new tank soon). He's been eating much less than he used to, only a few pellets a day.

For the past few days he's been very easily 'shocked'. When I get near the tank or open the container's cover to feed him, he'd hide in a piece of pipe I put in there and just lay there for MINUTES.

    Is that normal?

Today when he was swimming around I noticed his 'forehead' had swelled up, and his poop was white.

I'm really worried about him, what could be wrong? :\

Will upload a picture when I manage to get one.

Swollen head sounds like Hole in the head disease or HELLE.
And the white poop sounds like hexameta but I didn't know salt water fish could get that. It's an intestinal disease.
I have no idea how to treat either for salt water besides vitamins and proper nutrition.

When you say "breeding container" Do you mean one of those tiny little plastic containers you put guppies and mollies in to have babies?
If so the problem could very well be that there is not filtration, no heater, not enough room and a lot of reasons for the fish to be stressed.
A picture would really help. Try to get a picture of both the fish and the tank.

    Yeah, those containers :-/
Well shortly after I started the thread, I released my pseudo back into the tank.
He's been hiding in his usual spot under a rock ever since.

What could be the cause of the bump on his head? I still haven't managed to get a picture (he's hiding), but here's a sketch?

It looks exactly like the bump we get when we hit our heads? It's definitely not a growth.

Not trying to sound mean or anything but you only did him more harm than good by putting him in one of those containers. All SW fish need good filtration and warmth. Such a tiny space would only cause stress and the accumulation of ammonia.
Did you acclimate him when you put him in the tank or did you just dump him back in?

As for the bump I am stumped.

    I didn't, was I supposed to? :S

Because the breeding container has holes in the bottom of it, and it was placed in the tank. So I thought the water would be the same in there as it was the rest of the tank? :(

I just took the cover off the container, tilted it, and let him swim out?

Yeah I tried searching about diseases and all, couldn't find anything about the swollen forehead.

Ah, i see. I didn't have the understanding that it was a hang on container. Not quite as bad as I thought.
