    Evening Ladies and Gents,

Welcome to my thread on my rebuild of my 55 gallon reef tank. First tank was taken down due to a severe bryopsis infection and subsequent rock and tank nuking. Also while the tank was being drained the acrylic cracked rending the tank useless for my purposes. Tired with all of the scratches on the acrylic I opted for a glass tank this time around.

    Tank Specs:
    55 gallon glass tank
    29 high gallon sump
    2 Koralia #2s
    mag 7.5 pump
4x54w (overdriven to 80w) t5s with icecap ballast
carbon and GFO reactors with mj1200s
    Turboflotor blue skimmer
autotop off and solenoid valve from ATO.com
RO/DI water with 5 stage from BRS

    Inhabitants:
    Yellow striped damsel
    Red Firefish
    Yellow Headed sleeper goby
    various snails
    2 emerald crabs

    Corals:
    Various zoas
    Various mushrooms
    Frogspawn
    Hammer

Awesome! I was about to e-mail you and say, "pics or it didn't happen!"

How did you crack the tank... haha. Glass is the way to go anyway though. :)

when I was washing it outside a powerhead plug was underneath the tank and when it filled up the weight cracked it.

If I was there, I would have made some anal and annoying comment and prevented the whole catastrophe. ;P You must miss me. haha.

Nope none so far. Seems they mostly just scavenge some algae and crud off the rocks.

Yes yes I'm sure the catastrophe could have been avoided if you were here. Alas I do enjoy the glass tank though. It is a bit taller and less wide then its predecessor.

    Pic update

Went over the hill and spent a night in sac this weekend. Picked up a bunch of new frags and a new fish over at your reef. Great store.
