Pack just fell over on his back and started whining at mars. Dominance was established... Haha Running 4x54w t5 2 are UVL super actinics 2 are ATI Aquablue plus. Although I got a crappy icecap ballast that blew up on me on its second use. Customer service has left a lot to be desired.

That is going to be sweet :) So what's on the list after the cycle? I am assuming you will also have to order everything online...?

pair of clowns and then the cleanup crew. Yeah everything is going to have to be mail ordered or trips to sac with RARS. Pack has been nice enough to offer me some frags when my tank is ready.

    I am the Pack Leader!

And yeah, we will definitely have to schedule some road trips. I want to check out those stores down there. Should be much easier than having to go through mail order for everything.

So i decided to check the parameters today as I havent seen the damsel at all.

pH 8.2 (i used API ph 8.2 this morning was 7.8 previously)
    Ammonia .5(highest ever was 1.0)
    Nitrites 5.0
    Nitrates 80
dkh=>12 not sure whats going on here
    Phosphate 0.5
    Calcium 500
    Mg 1230

So I'm guessing the nitrites and trates were causing the damsel death flips. So should I just let the tank settle now or do I need to take action on any of these? Started cycling 3/12 with livesand and base rock.

Just let it run it's course. There is nothing unusual in your params really. The ammonia is less, and its getting converted to the nitrites and nitrates. They will most likely continue to rise as well as the ammonia continues to drop.

Bit of an update. Think the cycle is starting to chill out a bit. Ammonia 0 Nitrites 2.0 Nitrates 20. Added some live rock that Arcain was nice enough to give me. Spotted a tube work and this strange creature. Don't tell me the pic is too blurry tis the best I can do out of like 10 pics.

And the obligatory full tank shot.

Ever since I got my ballast back it seems to be working fine but the actinics look a lot more white. weird.
