Ok, I have the 150 gallon aquarium and wanting a different skimmer. My bother-in-law has a Eshopp’s PSK 150 that is rated for aquariums UP TO 150 gallons.
IS this something you’d do or would you go to the PSK-200??
He’s going to GIVE it to me…….otherwise I’d go with the 200 if I was buying one.
    Thoughts?

Typically I'd oversize a little. Having to big of a skimmer is not ideal either. But it all depends on bio-load. If yours is light, it should do just fine.

Most of the manufacturer's ratings are not accurate. They usually will tell you it is rated for higher than it actually is ideal for. Bulk Reef Supply does their own analysis of skimmers and puts their own size rating on their website. Check out their skimmers there and you will see what i mean.

On the other hand, for a lower bioload, you can't beat free skimmer. Do you have a skimmer right now? If you don't or you have a smaller skimmer, I would take the 150 and use it until you can buy a more ideal size for you application.

Should be fine. If it struggles to keep up, then upgrade.
