Puffer Chick's 20G Nano

Yeah Spot looks for food when I feed the rest and I can't resist giving him a little everyday,he just looks so sad when he doesn't get to eat. That and I want him fat and happy because 2 days after he went into the tank a bumblebee goby was missing.

As far as the bloodworms I had run out of the freebe nuisance snails from my LFSs and had the bloodworms on hand so decided to try it and he loves them. He'll also hunt down and eat ghost shrimp, so when I get paid next month I'm gonna try freeze dried mysis.

He also eats (less willingly/or less of it) an mixture of frozen raw shrimp, scallops,& calamari rings. And I swear he likes it all better while it is still frozen, I'm guessing because it's crunchier.
Of course all the hand feeding has made the other fish more bold and so they want to get some now too....so I have to keep moving my fingers to where Spot is...he's not a particularly aggressive eater.

I might have to try the crickets if mine doesn't like the mysis. Snails are a PITA to try and get all the time.

 

Puff is a fatty he's got a big belly going on he also enjoys sleeping half the day in the sand wuch a tough life he has

I used to give puff ghost shrimp back when he was little, he loved chasing around those guys, but then i guess he got tired of them and would always ignore them.

do you get the seafood at the grocery store? i may have to try that sometime

lol id be kind of afraid to feed Puff by hand, mainly cuase of his teeth, i dont think he would bite me though,

hahaha i know im mean especially with him being right next to the reef

deffiently try crickets i have to get small crickets for my toads, so thats what i give Puff but once in a while i will find medium-large crickets and i will try to leave the bigger ones for puff and he LOVES to chase them down

 

i noticed puff was sleeping so i zoomed in on him and got a pic, its interesting when he sleeps, he gets a film or sac over his body similar to wrasses but not exactly

 

That's cool about the film thing over him...lucky you with getting the shot.
Spot swims all day so works his belly off..he especially loves the bubbles & flow from the HOB filter. He swims against it and through it is cute. He also does a lot of what I saw on your video of Puff...going up and down or across the glass like they're looking for a way out.

For the seafood..I went to Trader Joe's because they have a seafood blend w/o preservatives, flavors or Tripolyphosphates (I read the thread on making your own food and they often add them to preserve the seafood).
Spot is always gentle when getting the food from my fingers so I'm not worried and that he's only 2.5-3 inches big...can't do too much damage.;D

 

hahaha yea only way that i got the pic was because im sitting on my bed and i just zoomed in really close, if i were to get up and get closer he would have swam away

and looks like you got an active GSP lol puff is really lazy, he does the whole up and down thing all day long

i have a Trader Joes across the street, ill have to go in there sometime, im alergic to the bloodworms so maybe if i can get him to eat that i can stop it

lol he wounds about the same size as Puff, puff hasnt really grown much since i got him like 2 years ago, i think he will remain this size, im really tempted to hand feed Puff now

and i would love to see some pics of Spot

 

well its not really a sac,, but its like a clear coating of something over his body its hard to explain, but it goes away as soon as he gets up, and yea ivve thought many times about getting rid of him but i just cant seem to bring myself to do it

 

hahaha i think they would be pretty hard to squeeze

 

Cool hope he'll hand feed for you....is sooo cool. I thought he might get bigger because I read that they can get to 6 inchs. But I also read somewhere that fish have an inderterminent (sp) growth and that they'll grow as big as the food supply allows.

I sure hope I can get some decent pics of Spot have a couple of fuzzy ones will post on his thread.

and yea ive seen some videos of the huge 6 inch puffers, cant believe they get that big that's intereting i didnt know that they'll grow as the food food supply allows, lol i think i overfeed flash but he eats everything i give him, still hasnt grown, oh well he can remain tiny
