Puffer Chick's 20G Nano

I think there is still a max size but maybe grow up to that point according to the food supply. But who knows I have a coworker that has a 17yr old pleclostemus (sp? again) that is 18inches long and they are only supposed to get 10" and live about 10yrs!

I don't mind if Spot stays small...is cute and will fit in the Nano SW tank cuz he's not going in the big tank.

 

Why would you get rid of him he's too cute...oh yeah I think I remember you saying he wasn't playing nice with the other fish?

Maybe mine is good w/others because he was added last.

 

haha yea i dont think Puff will get any bigger than this. That is one huge algae eater

and funny thing about puff, i originally got my 46 bowfront for him, so he could go in a bigger tank and have it at SW level, but as i started to research more on SW tanks i decided i wanted a reef instead so puff stayed in his 20

Did Puff get brighter when he went full SW? I heard some do.

So I take it he's not reef safe then?

as far as him getting brighter, i think he did but i cant really say for sure becaues i also got a new light bulb at the same time, so might just be the better lighting, but he is brighter either way

deffiently not reef safe, i think mainly because of the inverts, not sure how they are with coral

and thanks, lol i just wish i could get some better pics of him, but oh well

Heck a clean up crew wouldn't be safe with mine.....they'd be breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks!

I take it you don't have one or he's just not interested in them.

i dont have one, but i have thrown a cerith in there before just to see what he would do, and he poked at it a few times then left it alone, i think he would be ok with inverts but its hard to say, he was good with the fish that i had in with them, i ended up having to take out the psedo because he was beating up on poor Puff and the psedo also killed the damsel, but what was funny is when i first got him he ate like 5 freshwater community fish, now he's a big baby, i may try a peaceful SW fish in the future

 

Ahh...yeah, maybe not too peaceful...or rather too small. Good for you about the snail....you can have a clean up crew...is my problem with switching Spot to full marine...not sure it's a good idea.
And I'm not pointing fingers ~coughSpotcough~ but I am down 1 bumblebee goby after he was put in and b4 I found something he'd eat.

 

yea i may end up trying another damsel with him,the last one i had wasnt to horrible, just wont try another psedo

hahaa you can go FOWLR like me, i just have 200lbs base rock and i use the water from the reef
