    definitely use rodi water either buy it from lfs or purchase rodi unti (i prefer the typhoon from airwaterice its only $150 and works perfectly purely my opinion others work good too.)

    For anyone considering using tap water for their top-offs or to mix their own salt water, be sure to read the thread, What's the biggest mistake you ever made in this hobby. There seems to be a recurring theme regarding the use of tap water.

    the biggest mistake was not starting the hobby earlier, so I would have a full reef by now

    true that, I plan on moving out early nxt year thats why i went with the nano, I think it'll be easier to move

    i hope my parents will keep the tank, i think their starting to like it *minus the cost of things that i'm having to buy* but i think if i can get them to learn about it early they will be able to keep it up themselves after i'm gone, i'd hate to put all of this money into the tank and have it taken down and sold for next to nothing in a year or two

    lol i plan to move out of state, i think it would be kind of hard to ship all of the tank out of state and put it all back up by myself

    haha that's not very far especially for a tank of your size, lol i hope to plan to move to Colorado which is a few states over so that in itself will be a pain to move, especially since i'll be bringing my horse and dog with me :D
