Nice to hear that added flow may be all you needed to get rid of the cyano, hopefully it keeps that up. Don't worry too much about the fish I don't think as long as there are adequate sleeping spots available, they'll all adjust eventually.

Maybe this is not helpful or is common knowledge, but the vortech lagoon mode means that the transitions from low to high power take longer. So you end up with longer periods of low flow but you also have longer periods where the powerhead peaks at max flow (according to your power knob setting determining the max flow rate).
Reef crest means it sits at the low and high periods for shorter periods of time.
At least that's my understanding and experience with the vortechs. I like the reef crest mode because there are faster transitions and I keep lots of acros that like frequent high flow from my experience. If I were keeping more LPS I would consider lagoon mode so that the high flow periods would "annoy" the LPS/softies less but may still help provide some high flow periods to help keep things like cyano from taking hold and to help keep detritus etc from collecting excessively in dead spots during the low periods.

all the cyano that was on the sand alrady went away overnight. so i think once i get the other powerhead, the cyano thats on the rocks will hopefully go away. And as far as my fish and sleeping places go they are weird, the chromis likes to sleep in between the heater and the back wall and my clowns like to sleep in the corner, and the wrasses of course in the sand. nobody sleeps in the rock, but with the new powerhead they may have to.

thanks for the clarification of the modes, last night i left it on lagoon mode but i have changed it back to reef crest but i have kept the speed dialed up. so im hoping the lps just didnt like the constant speed and that they will be ok with the higher flow so long i keep it at reef crest, because when i had it dialed down lower my bubble and brain were in heaven but as soon as i changed the mode and speed they werent very happy

did a 5 gall w.c. today, cleaned the glass really good, cleaned off the MP a bit, emptied the skimmer took the Maxijett out. Noticed my acro looks like it has a hint of green starting to show, but i cant get it to show up on my camera. Can't wait until the hydro evo gets here, im hoping that will take care of my cyano problem. And i finally got my cords and everything organized, well kinda :D

It looks like you still have a decent amount of space for some more SPS frags.

thanks, my camera hides the cyano its getting REALLY bad and is bugging the hell out of me i cant stand it, i put my MP back at constant monde since that at least helped get rid of the cyano on the sand, im really hoping the new hydor will get rid of the cyano on the rocks, its really taking over and i hate it.

thanks! the green tint that its starting to get is prettty cool. I guess white acros arent all that common, ive been looking at LiveA's DD and havent seen any that look like this one

yea im really hoping to get more, and once i trim down my birdsnest might have a little more room since it takes up so much space.
But i really want to get this cyano under control before i get a ton more coral, ill probably get some here and there from the lfs if they have any i like, and im still planning a $300 SPS online shopping spree once i get my credit card down
