i think so too... the bottom of one of my dads purple rimmed montis looks like that. the dead ring could be a lot of things, prolly not something to worry about unless its spreading

 

also, some kinda worm thing lives in my dads monti cap and it makes some dead tissue around the worm, then the worm grows a longer tube, then the monti grows back up the tube... then the cycle repeats again

 

ewwwwwww maybe that's whats wrong, i'd rather take out the monti then, i dont really care for the monti that much if that's the case

hmm ok night rider thought the same thing, not enough flow, but my problem is lol i dont know how i would get it to even more flow, the flow level is equally very high throughout my tank, and he is about mid level in the tank, i only have my rocks go up about half way

 

think an LFS would take a monti looking like this? it would clear up the space for more acros

 

i dont think there is anything majorly wrong... i dont see why they wouldnt?
