ohhh ok i'll take a look at it when i'm ready to buy my lighting, i'll probably ask for help on which bulb brand to buy. And i bascially want to keep anything i want with the light so if he can keep sps at the top of his, im sure i will be able to on mine, but i won't get into sps for a while, so far jsut looking into softies and maybe some lps

 

i haven't really looked at the fixture yet, but does it come with the leg brackets to mount up onto the tank, i won't be able to hang a light from the ceiling so mounting on the tank is my only option

 

Yup, pretty sure it does if not they are like 5-10 bucks extra, but i lied the fixture is only 114.99 with four bulbs, pretty sure it comes with legs so add in 80 in name brand bulbs from like dr fosters and smith and u got a good light for right around 200 dollars

 

hehe funny about the stand i hate that it doesn't have more doors to help hide stuff and it also doesn't allow me to have a sump, but oh well. and thanks i'm hoping this tank goes really well especially since the parents pretty much said ok to keeping the tank after i move.

Nope not made by tek, thats why its cheaper, it doesnt have SLRs but they can always be added down the line. If you have the money then go with the tek light, but if you want to save some money and still have a good light, then save some money and go with this.

 

Yeah the stand was throwin me a curve ball when I had it. Thats when I said enough is enough. And I got the tank I have now.

 

ok, i'll think about it the tek really isin't that expensive but i just have to make sure my c.c is all paid off to buy it but i'm always looking to save a little money so i will also look into the option that you have mentioned

 

haha stupid top fin brand i wish i could go bigger but parents said no, it took me a year to get them to let me get a bigger tank, it was a lot of fighting about it with them, then they finally gave up and said ok for my birthday and now they like it and also i have no room or money for a bigger tank, but hopefully one day i will have another tank
