so i'm loving this skimmer already! not even 24hrs old and it's working! the water is a yellow color, although it might be yellow from my wall color, hard to tell at the moment. So far my only complaint is that it's noisy!

Yeah, it seams everything I add, adds a little more noise. As for taking pics of fish, just point the camera at the tank and take hundreds of pics in sucsession and you might get a couple good ones.;D

Haha that's what we do. Out of every 3 good pics you see, there are probably 30 you will never see. You just gotta point and shoot and hope that the fish is in the right spot at the right time.

my skimmer at 48 hours, i can't believe how fast this skimmer is working, even during the first 24 hours it was already pulling out skimmmate. If it's working this well with no fish, i can't wait to see how it works once it's fully stocked. I just hope i can figure out a way to quiet it down, then it would be perfect

    Hi puffer... looking good.

I have a similar skimmer (see sig). Your skimmate looks pretty clear to me... this would be the diff between 'wet skimming' and 'dry skimming'. You seem to be wet skimming.

If you raise that collection cup slightly, it will fill slower and will end up being quite a bit darker.

    good luck. those pics rock!
