Puffer, since we live in the same city etc, I just started my 46 gallon bow front about 5 months ago, for RO/DI water ive been going to the ralphs right on Alton and Jeffrey, they have a RO/DI water machine there. I got 3, 5 gallon jugs from wall mart in foothill ranch and i fill them up once a month. Costs $1.50 per 5 gallon jug, and the jugs were about 6 bucks a pop, def beats running to Coral Oasis as well. Ive been using the water since i started my tank and i have had no problems at all with it.

ohhh that's really good priced water! i didn't know that, i know exactly where you are talking about so maybe that will be easier doing that than going to coral oasis once a week

One thing I've been thinking is, your cycle may be taking so long because of all the rock you have in there. More live rock means more die off, so your cycle may take longer, but you'll have the beastliest bacteria around :D

hmmm maybe your right :D. And i'm having a green hair algae bloom now, just started yesterday, so i guess in a way that's a good sign that my cycling is almost over

Yeah. If your tank becomes anything like ours did, that stuff is gross and will get everywhere, but will go away eventually. A phosphate reactor is a good buy.

A good thing about the algae is that it can help you aim your powerheads where you want them :D
