so here are some pics under the actinics, the color in the pictures are not what they look like in person, the camera makes them look very dull.

brain. the center is a bight green same with the green on the outside, the red is more like a nice bright cherry red. the brain is currently deflated

here is the bubble coral, it also ooks dull in thep icture, but its color is very close to the green of my brain in person.

here is the birdsnest, its still hard to judge what color it is, but the tips appear to be pink and the body has a mixture of like green and yellow. i'll be able to tell better once the the daylights come on

wow puffer, your an inspiration. Your thread reached 84 pages and you got you first coral like 2 weeks ago ;D Thats pretty impressive, i must say. People must really like you on here. Anyways, your tank looks awesome as always and your corals are simply stunning. They adapted quickly and nicely. Job well done. Do you mind posting what you test for and what the params of your water are? the corals are showing great color already! Again, i love the aquascape and the tank looks really nice. Kudos

Not to bump off coarse, but i read the thread about surface agitation. #1, why do you not have the mp20 full speed? At least boost it up so you dont need the mj, it will make the tank look less cluttered. #2, its definitely all about how high the mp20 is placed in the tank. As someone said before, i can tell how high or low or if the powerhead is changing speeds all based off surface agitation. My water sometimes goes over the edges of the tank (when im messing around with it on full speed) because the agitation is so great. If sand is being kicked up, then thats even more reason to move it up higher. Good luck and keep up the great work

thanks so much! and i can't believe 84 pages myself, its felt like this tank has taken forever to get going, i havent even finished stocking my tank yet and its 6 months old  and i have just started getting my first corals like you said :D

As far as parameters i havent tested since last week's water change, as i test twice a month. But when i did my last water change i forget the exact numbers but i do remember ammonia and nitrite were 0 and nitrate 5 which was probably from the filter sock being dirty. Phosphates were 0 i remember the calcium was a tad bit low, but i tested before the water change and not after. I forget my alkalinity test, and don't have a mag test yet. I'm going to keep my birdsnest as my only SPS for a while until i get the rest of my test kits and learn how to dose supplements. But for now i'm hoping everything will be ok with my weekly water changes.

And the corals are doing awesome! the bubble coral has now fully opened up, i'm a bit worried. It's looks even bigger than it was at the store, i have it in a large corner in the back of my tank, and it's already almost maxed out of that space  i may have to move it and sacrafice my future clams home for the bubble coral. And the brain is doing awesome and so is the birdsnest. my tank finally has color :D And i love my aquascape now too, i just have a hard time gluing down corals because everything is slanted, i couldnt get my birdsnest where i wanted it because the glue wouldnt hold, i have to light acclimate it anyways, so i guess i can figure out how to glue it better later

What glue are you using PC? I found that epoxy works well and lets me set the angle I want even if I have to hold the coral for a few minutes until it starts to set.

Your corals look great. That Birdsnest is Big. Looks like your buying mother colonys instead of frags :) Looks like you have a lot of room for some new additions.:) Your tanks coming along nicely.

probably, the birdsnest wand the brain were in on of their DT. and the bubble was in one of their holding tanks with other bigger corals. Their frags were just so small that i wouldnt be able to see them on my rocks, soi decided to go with the big ones. And looking at the birdsnest it does look like it could have been a mother colony because it looks like some areas were cleanly broken off, probably for frags
