I ordered a reef Octopus extreme 200 with a free large purple pinwheel and free shipping from Reef Specialty. I really saved myself money due to not paying shipping and not paying the 8.5% sales tax in NY...and that skimmer was over 300 at the LFS. $285 is what i got out of it for

I should have it sometime early next week. Looking forward to getting it all set up and getting rid of my Fission POS.

I went with a skimmer rated for almost 3x my system so that i dont need to upgrade when i get a bigger tank;D

...and because im planning a heavy SPS tank

... because i hoping to get my system to a place to 86 the water changes and a good skimmer is a must.

I will keep you all updated, of course

Well i got my Octo-ex 200 skimmer today. I put it together, installed the purple pinwheel and threw it in my sump.

As far as first impressions go....it is very very well built. Everything is thick acrylic, form fit and function is perfect. Tight fit everywhere.

As far as noise goes... its is atleast a 100% improvement over the fission. The loudest thing on my tank is the overflow now. I cant even hear the skimmer with the door open.

Its breakin in... man is my sump crowded now.....

Octos are nice skimmers...I'm thinking about using a NW-110 for my upgrade (which will probably never happen):(
