Well hey 3reefers, Mkizla here. I got pulsing xenia from a local around 2 weeks ago now? I think. First 2 days they were pulsing, now they are not. They still do open up very long, the longest stalk opens up around 5-6 inch long.
So yeah they open up pretty good, and looks healthy, but maybe the lighting?
The guy had a strong MH light in his tank, and I only have PC. Could that be it?
Or maybe something to do with flow? They look pretty but would be a + if they started to pulse again

It's probably the lack of lighting compared to what they were used to. Once they adjust they will probably start again?

Mine tried to move as high as possible on my Biocube with the stock lighting. If you look at that picture I sent you for the Derasa they went from the middle to the top. Once they reached that area they started to spread like crazy, I finally isolated and moved them to another tank because they were getting out of hand :). You may want to try moving them higher and put a little flow on them to see if that works.

They should adjust to lighting I noticed they didn't like a lot of flow in my tank. If you keep them out of med/high flow area, they should pulse more. I have pom pom xenia and it pulses like crazy under very low flow.

    Yes, they def move.

Here's a vid of my pom pom xenias I posted a bit ago, you'll see how crazy mine pulse: http://www.joebeleznay.net/pompoms.MOV (need quicktime to view). This colony started as a little clump and exploded, they're situated under my powerhead so don't really get any flow, which makes them happy.

They do it slowly but you'll see them suck in water and then they can shift/move by expelling it, basically like a clam shuffle.
