I plan on fragging mine here soon, I am about a hour (I think) away from Ithaca, I'll let you know when I do.

Can you elaborate on this? Stay closed... like all day? I recently added this as a first coral, so I'm not real familiar with its behavior yet.

It is usually open. In the past couple of days I noticed it closes up several times... reopens... closes back... it is by far mostly open though. Is it normal for them to close up though? Do you just mean if they stay closed for like several days?

My tests showed only a lower Mg level - so I'm dosing that... maybe that's what is causing it?

My Xenia open, and close all the time. By and far they're usually open though, unless they've been disturbed by a snail or crab. They close up every night to sleep and reopen when the actinics turn on.

I just got a small frag of these today. I had no idea they can become so evasive. I was just disappointed in myself that I bought them without researching them thoroughly because everywhere that I've read said that they were difficult to keep. I guess that's not the case.
