Pump for my Octopus BH100 Skimmer

So the pump on my octopus skimmer just stopped functioning properly, i'm not really a handy man and i am really bad with this kind of stuff..
so it runs for about 2 mins.. stops for about 1 min, then runs for another 4 mins then stops for another 2-3 mins.. something of that order.. is it overheating? i cleaned out the inside completely? what is possibly wrong with it? the pump does feel a bit warm when i go touch it after it stops working.. someone suggested me to soak it in vinegar, is that going to do anything? or do i need a replacement pump?

I would soak it in vinegar but it doesn't sound promising for the pump. I would start pricing out a replacement.

nononono dont buy a new one. Octopus stands behind their products, they will send you a replacement in a heartbeat. Just email them here, and they will send you a new pump free of shipping charges or any other charges. Had the same problem. This is who manufactures your skimmer:
