i mentioned earlier i got a chiller but i think this question is kinda filter related so will try it here...

i knoweveryone loves photos so, here is my 12" bowfront cube nano...

here is my canister and sweet new chiller...

would i be able to unplug the canister pump (maybe remove the impeller) and pump water through it from the DT instead of it 'sucking' the water down?
and IF so, could i have the canister return go through the chiller before returning to the tank?

    kinda like this...

as its a very small tank i'm trying to minimize the amount of stuff in the tank and figure im going to need some kind of pump to get the water into the chiller anyway.
the canister is running some rubble, stock filter sponge/pad things, anti phos and purigen.
i was told i should get a skimmer too and plan on adding a remora nano in a couple weeks.

the aim here is to get some coral going, light will be upgrated to a boost par30 soon.

if anyone can suggest anything to help here that would be awesome as i still consider myself new to keeping much other than my little clown.
if theres anything i've left out please let me know and i will do what i can.
    thanks :)

    Hi Chappy

I know from your other thread you have decided to run them seperately

which I feel is a better idea, because if you run the filter through the chiller and the filter gets clogged or stops working this then could cause issues with the tank temp
and also issues with the chiller

thanks steve, i was a little torn with which way to go.
the filter having the potential to mess with the chiller did worry me a bit, seemed better to keep them independent.
good to know someone with your experience thinks i went the right way
