I went to Home Depot today, I got some water pipe and and some bulkhead. But the lady there say the Glue (cement), is not safe for fish. She told me go to pet store to buy it. Is that true?

You can use all purpose glue(cement) and purple primer that is what I used and no issues just let it set for a day or two to get that smell out. :)

I think if it has this stuff called cynoacyrlic in it then it is ok but you might want to double check.

I have always used the regular pvc cement and primer. Never had a problem, even used as soon as 15 min after glueing.

I agree.. As long as use are not using flexible PVC. Flexible PVC requires no primer and a different cement. I glue, I just blow out the vapors out of the piping. I do have a quick question, where did you find bulkheads at Home Depot????

That's what I used on my rigid PVC piping. You don't need to wait that long for the smell.
