Do I just match the GPH on the overflow to the pump or do I have to mess with different pumps till I get it right . I am setting up 55g refuge and wanting it to overflow to main tank 105g . Also do I have to cycle new refuge or just put same temp and sal and just run through DT . I bought the CSiphon overflow 50 along with the aqua lifter .Oh and do I just put the pump in the DT or in the sump . Thanks for you help :thumbs_up

as long as the gph of the pump is less then the gph of the overflow you will be ok. the easy way to do this is put a vavle on the return from the pump.
if the tank is already cycled the bacteria will already be in the dt water, so it should move to the refuge fairly quickly. most people just have it go into the sump so theres only one return.

Yeah... you want a pump that is more than the overflow is capable of... then put a valve on it to control the outflow of the pump.
If you're doing plumbing it's a good time to think of future issues that you may want that pump to do.. such as a phosban reactor, protein skimmer ect. One pump can run everything so it's a good idea to build a manifold to supply other things.
One thing I wish I had known more about when I set up.

so you mean run one pump in the sump to feed the DT and the refuge plus put my skimmer,uv and phos reactor all inline . What size of pump do I use for this and do you know where I could see a set up of this (pictures or drawings)Thanks for your help

You will want a pump that will be able to handle the return line as well as any other reactors that you may want to add. Every scenario is different, so it's hard to say exactly what pump you will need. You will have to consider head pressure going into the DT, as well as the added head that the extra piping and the reactors will create.
