WOW thanks for the tip really great idea. have already check it out. Will order to replace rubber matt and the 2 foams under the wood support. But the egg shape sound insulation foam has a better % of insulation, its used in theatres , civic centers and operas. Not to mention sound proof rooms lol.

It would seem an internal is quieter than an external, if they are both on pads, right?

My Marinland 5500 (It's made Italy- the Ferrarri of pumps?) is either- I use it internal.
    It's on a foam/fiber pad.

then I foam pad my return line- a SpaFlex hose.

    Very quiet!

Ah; i'll say yes but i'm not sure to what lol. To what topic , subject, or angle your refering to, your pump, the location, its foam, or the strenght of your pump. Sorry i don't follow.

What i can deduce, is inside pump quieter, maybe, but the price( higher water temperature in your tank) For me i'll run a closed loop for my tanks, plus a return that will be inside the sump, so the sorbothane will be great for both the inside and the outside pump. one reason i can't have both pumps either inside or outside, noises outside or heat inside the tank.
