Does anybody here have experience with Rio pumps or the Rio 2100 pump? If so what has it been?

Rios are cheap, but in my experience loud.
Some have horror stories about them.

I use them for water changes, but I do not use them continously.

Mags seem to be preferred for not much more.

I like my Eheim pump, it's durable and quiet, but not cheap though.

What are you using it for?
    :-/

I have a RIO 2500 in my display tank what should i be worried about. It does not seem to put out much flow for a 750gph.

    What is the worries.

What would be a good power head(s) for a 90g with only a 5000 seadra 750gph in my sump for a return.

    What me worry?

leave your finger on it!!! just kidding.. i used to have a rio 2100 and it was loud but if you use the suction cups attachement "thing" that came with the pump it should help some cause the pump will not be dirrectly touching the glass. JMO

i have the rio 3100...and like everyone else i agree its pretty loud, but it get the job done. Plus its under the tank enclosed in the stand, so when you close the doors its not so bad.
I did have a rio 800 for an urchin skimmer, and after 3 months it burned out, so i'm not to happy about that, but i guess for the price you kinda have expect it.

Historically, Rios have been know to have their housings crack, leaking oil into the water. I had one crack, personally, but it was not in my tank at the time. I have not heard of this lately tho. My pump was a few years old. I am also under the impression that is was on the bigger housings... ;)

;D I run all Mag's on my tank. 2 Mag 5's and one Mag 9.5 - super super quiet and reliable. I also slightly hang them from their piping so they do not vibrate on the glass. I know, technically, you are not supposed to do this so... not that I am recommending that ::) ::)
