    I just cut the plumbing a hair short so the pump is just barely off the bottom of the tank. No vibration noises ;D

    I have also used the same pad used for prefilters as a base for a couple of maxijets I had on the floor of my hospital tank. Made quite a lot of noise until I just sat them on it. Downside - at least in hospital tank, tended to gather some of the detritus and needed rinsed weekly

    i c what you mean birdlady, your talking about while its in sump... i have my rio in the display.. and its loud, but ill get it fixed.
