ok so i purchased the reef octopus nw 150. i was going to buy the 200 but its foot print would not fit in my sump, the 150 barley fits ,and i got to see the 150 running on a 250 gal look down acan tank. . after like 5 hours of draining and removing my sump i finally got the skimmer in. put it all back in turned it on, and the pump would not work:angry::angry::angry::angry:. so it took me like another hr to figure out if i blow threw the air line then it starts up.
i got done at like 3am so its been running since then, no skim yet.

anyone know whats the deal with the split in the collection cup?.the neck does not seal were the skimmer neck meets the skimmer body.
am i missing a rubber seal or something?
were do i put the water level to skim?

Keep the foam bairly getting to the bottom of the collection cups neck. The water that gets through from the skimmer bubbles will seal the neck on the cup. Then wait a couple days. My octopus works great.

i know i got to wait for it to break in be for i get foam, but the collection cup thing was just confusing me.

    thank you very much.

i seen it running on a 250 gal look down tank. and it seemed to be doin a great job on that, so im excited for my first lil foam bubble. its not even skmming yet and its working better than my CSS 65.;D
