    Hello fellow reefers.

I recently upgraded lights from PC to a MH/T5 combo fixture. Learned the hard way about light acclimation, etc, etc...

I have been picking up a lot of frags from craigslist. Lots of helpful local reefers helping me out for cheap. That is always nice. About a month ago I picked up a nice frag of purple acropora. It has just started to show signs of growth over the last few days. I guess it is settling in. It is starting to change colors. It had a very deep purple when I got it. Now the purple is getting lighter and turning a neon green from the base out. The polyps are starting to turn green as well. It looks awesome under the moonlights! Is this cause for alarm?

I did several searches and found several threads about going from purple to brown. Nothing from purple to green. Part of me acclimating the tank I am running about a 10 hour photo period for my actinics and 4.5 hour with the M/H. Not sure if that is relevant.

No, it is just displaying its full color complement. Congrats. Color changes are common between tanks because they are different color variants of zooxanthellae every tank.
