In my refug I have a bloom of what looks like a purple colored algae, it is on the sand the heater the intake pipe, I do not think it coraline, I can wipe it off with my finger. I have Cheato and five young red mangroves in there. The cheato is about the size of a baseball. I have all the snails from Reefclearners. This algae is not in my DT. Should I put some snails in the refug? Or What? The system is about 8 months old, Thanks

probably cyno, that likes to grow where there is not much flow, I don't think it will hurt anything, but maybe someone else will chime in.

I have a problem with it smothering my chaeto in my fuge too. It only grows on my chaeto. Most of my fuge is caulerpa though.
