Purple Condy Anomone sick

We are not sure what is going on with our Purple Condy Anomone the past week it has been spitting up a lot of gunk and getting really small... and not sure what is going on if it sick and we need to take him out he has been in out tank the longest and non of the other fish or our other anemone are sick or acting strange.... This is out first tank and we need help please. Water levels are all great and water temp ranges from 76 to 80 depending on time of day....

Are you feeding the anemone?

Do you have lighting to support an anemone?

Perhaps post values for specific gravity, and nitrates. An images always really helps too.

 

Yes we do feed him daily when all the fish get feed and once by hand weekly , we have radion lighting and he moves around the rock he is on constantly. all water levels are were they r suppose to be.. We added more live rock about a month ago and he climbed to the top of the tank and we moved him down and since then he has been acting strange but the spitting up stuff is something he just started in the past couple of weeks. its like a reddish brown and its stringy...

The anemone is expelling waste and or zooxanthellae. I would stop feeding it so much, anemones have a slow gut it takes longer for them to digest food. They expel undigested food.

As long as the anemone if not wandering into power heads, heaters or overflows let the anemone go where it wants. The anemone knows what conditions will meet it's needs, moving the anemone only stresses it.

Good level in a tank are very subjective. Too assist you better we need actual numbers. You should double check your specific gravity and nitrate levels.

It can not hurt to do a water change so I would proceed with a 5-10% water change and see if that makes a difference.

is it footed? is the bottom attached to that rock? I agree with Corailline in that you shouldn't feed it so much because that can cause it problems. I also agree that you want the anemone to find its own happy place - which may or may not be where you'd like it to be. I'd just leave it alone at this point.

 

We moved him only cause he was by the Overflow tubes and the jets, He let him go where he wants.. He is footed he stays mostly there on that rock but all over it.. he only gets the food that we give our fish mostly. which is betta brine... I like to give them fresh shrimp everynow and then... Our Green longtip anemone isn't doing anything like our purple condy is.

 

The issue maybe as simple as mixing types of anemones in one tank. The Condy is close to the LTA, allelopathy might be the issue. Or the Condy wandered too close to the LTA.

 

The purple Condy is half in bloom today but moving all around the one rock he has been on... he does get very close to the Green one often then seem to like being closer together than further apart. it has been that way since we added the green one in to the tank... However there is a strong odor come from the tank today and all fish are accounted for unless its the peppermint shrimp......
