Purple Gorgonian polyps gone brown?

I bought a Purple Gorgonian about 6wks ago. The polyps were totally white which is what attracted me to it. Great contrast right
Well now that it's been in my tank for these 6wks all the polyps have turned brown. Not a good contrast It appears healthy. All polyps fully extended, not an empty spot from top to bottom. I've see pictures where these gorgs polyps are brown. I'm feeding it Coral Extacy which is a zooplankton.

Are they supposed to be brown or white?

 

Mine are brown and always have been. I wonder if they were white because they were bleached out?

 

See that's what I've been saying an debating with others on. I figured they were bleached too. Thanks for the validation

 

If they turned brown, they may be photosynthetic. I've seen purple photosynthetic gorgs, and I personally own a fuzzy brown one (no purple).
