Two days ago i got a purple gorgonian. the guy at the saltwater store said it has white polyps. but i didnt really see the actual color because they were under some low actinics. When i put them in my tank i was super excited to add some purplre to my tank. he looked really good until his polyps came out and they are a brown color:confused:. Is it just the actual color or is it shedding, or could it be water chemistrey. somebody tell me why this is. I have two 150 halides 15k on a 55 gallon hard coral reef setup.

Bingo, what type of lights was it under and what type of lights do you have? You will notice just about everything "shift" colors under different lighting.
