    I have made the mistake with fine sand bed - best to remove asap and replace with a courser sub strait . It was so bad - thank god i decided to up grade to a 180 ;D and did not repeat my mistakes.

    +1 on switching it out with a coarser substrate.

    Also thats a nice piece of rock you have there! It has character and nice coralline colors.

    ill somewhat disagree with everyone that posted lol
    you can have that sand without issue, it takes carefull powerhead placement tho.
    you also have to be ready for it to create some sand dunes in spots you may not want.
    iv had sugar sized in a few tanks and it takes a minute to dial in the powerheads but after that its fine. plus in a few months it sits pretty solid.
    having said all that, i still use the coarser substrate lol

    Switch has been made. My poor cloudy tank lol

    I turned off the circulation pumps but left on the filter and put a fluvol water polishing pad on top. Assuming this was the right thing to do

    Make sure to check that pad often, I remember my filter pad clogging up in hours after adding new sand.

    Congrats on the new sand btw, you will truly enjoy having larger grained sand.
