Purple growing on everything - except rock!

    Ok so maybe someone can help me with this. I have had my FOWLR tank up and running for about 9 months now. I have purple growing on the back of the tank, the circulation pumps, the glass, and have several rocks covered with purple that I had introduced a number of months ago. But my original live rocks only have very limited and very small purple spots on them. The purple does not seem to want to grow on either of these 2 large rocks.

    So what gives?
