I got last week a 1 inch purple haze and I have it about 14 inches from the 150 watt MH bulb. Today the polyps were not out at all for the first time.(It looked perfect upto today) I do have 2 leathers and a fiji yellow softie. Could these harm the Purple Haze Monti? I run Chemipure Carbon and Phosban.

Hey Adam - how is it doing now?
how close are these 2 softies to the Purple haze? the carbon you are running should take care of any chemical warfare but if they are to close to the haze- maybe they are affecting it before the carbon takes them out of the system

hopefully someone else may have other thoughts

I have a devils hand about 1 foot in size but plenty of room in between it and the purple haze. I think maybe its polyps were very open because it was trying to get as much light as possible during the first week of acclimation and now it does not need to open its polyps as big? Does this make sense? I have a pretty stocked tank but everything is doing very well and my large Purple Grape Idaho Monti has a lot of new growth recently

makes alot of sense. Purple haze doesn't need a whole lot of light compared to most sps.
