Purple plating algae?

    Does anyone know what type of macroalgae this is? Luckily it is pretty but I'm sure it is invasive given enough time.

    A type of Lobophora perhaps?

    Perhaps. Most searches of Lobo only show brown varieties... this one is a deep purple and seems to have a more delicate structure like a Padina algae.

    There are so many species of macoalgea there's no telling what it is.

    I checked back to see if you got an ID on that algae. It is so pretty, would love to know what it is and if it is invasive.
