Hi guys need some help here...

Received some new additions for my tank that arrived today and my purple pseudochromis is not very happy about the new pearly jawfish. He gets along just fine with my true percula, yellow clown goby, and my tri colored fairy wrasse but he doesn't seem to like the jawfish... Luckily the jawfish is bigger and when he opens his mouth real wide he can usually scare the pseudo away but he's still being super aggressive all of the sudden... Is this just the new kid hazing or should I potentially get rid of one of the fish???

there is bound to be some friction when new elements are added, monitor during the following week and see if aggression decreases. if not then you might well have to catch one of the two.

what i have also found effective to calm angry spirits (if they are really wild) is to turn the lights off for a while

pseudochromis can be aggressive. I have never heard of one not doing at least some bullying. Even though they are much smaller I have heard of several bullying a Regal Tang and Cinnamon Clown.

i had to get rid of mine when I got a pearly jawfish. His name was Shady, suited him well. Once I got rid of him, I noticed that my crabs stopped showing up dead too :) Good luck if you do decide to remove him, it was almost impossible to get mine out. Happy fishing! :D

Alrighty well sounds like it could go either way so ill keep watching all week and see what happens... If things don't go so well ill probably be right back on here looking for the best way to catch a pseudochromis...

i had one a while back i actually took him back to the fish store he was to aggressive to anything new, once they get established they get to be the bullys of the tank especially with more peaceful or calm fish. just keep an eye on him he might calm down after he shows his territory

Purple pseudochromis, that is what they do.

Try moving some rock around and good luck.
