My purple rim fungia has not looked so hot the past few weeks. I just moved him up in the tank to maybe get some more light. My fixture is a T5 6x54 watt fixture running 3 10k and 3 actinic bulbs made by Hamilton. I'm planning on upgrading my bulbs in a month or so. I have the perfect combo picked out, but short on money as of now. Any suggestions would be awesome. I have two other fungias that are doing great, a green and orange.

You don't want to put it on the rocks, it can damage the flesh and kill the fungia. Leave it on the sand it maybe going through a phase where it doesn't look good. If it will feed it should be OK.

Yes get it on the sand bottom or it will walk off that rock and that can't recall it now was it a hammer or frog spawn maybe a torch ? looked really close to it and that could be a lot of your problem its being stung to death and will not open

Naw I just put it up on the rock today, while doing a little tank maintenance. I do not keep it up there, just took the photo of it while it was there. Its been living on the sand bottom next to my other two fungias.

Might try to get it into more flow or away from the other plate corals .. Maybe to much competition for the real estate ?

Yeah thats a good point, I'm thinking hes not enjoying my lighting either. I bought my lights from the LFS and I think the PAR values aren't very good.
