Purple stuff growing out of my Live Rock?

    Does it have a stalk like appearance can't tell from the pic but it looks kind of like it does from your pic?

    well it looks like a plant when it starts sprouting babies.

    theres similar looking things on the LR in my nano and on the rock I just got for my new 46, never have really changed or grown, just always been there, I wouldnt worry about it, probably some type of marine plant or sponge or something along those lines, maybe some else can help...are they multiplying or growing noticably or did you just spot them now...

    Well they have sprouted with in the last week or so.

    Oh and I am not worried about them I just would like to know what it might be cause if it would grow it might look pretty cool.

    They are Foraminifera's aka Foram's. Very primitive form of coral. Thats as big as they get.

    i agree with Geek, Red Tree Forums "Homotrema rubrum" if i recall correctly, should see little pointy "strings" come out as a type of feeders.
