No debacle. Don't apologize for asking a very good questions. Not everyone agrees on the issues and it is always good to get multiple opinions.

I agree, bigger the better. I have a 90, and I'm planning on getting one tang. I think even a 90 is a bit small because they like to swim so much.

OK people Chill out. For every "your can't have a tang in anything less than a 75G" there is a success story of someone having one in a goldfish bowl.

We do not have to get confrontational or resort to insults

I'm just saying...there are people here that think that there is nothing else but their opinion...... and in reality it is only an opinion.....proven because I have housed a 3 inch tang in a 65 Gallon Tank along with many other tangs with no trouble.... I would suggest that any fish experts we have here would write books instead of spending their time on the internet trying to discard logic and real DATA!! BTW I love you all.;D

What is the smallest tang size (Yellow Tang and Purple Tang) that I can buy safely for it to survive. I have heard that babies do not survive well.

This way I have plenty of time to get the correct tank size and everything and I also can have it for a while learn what its like to have a tang and if it gets too large I can find it a good home?

Does this sound ok? Or no?

If it was me, I would just wait to get a tang until I have a bigger tank. Because once I get attached to a fish I'm not going to want to give it away.

But your opinion is the correct one and the countless book on fish husbandry that have been written that recommend 100G or larger for Zebrasoma xanthurum (Purple Tang) must be wrong since you've had success

Yes everyone's opinion counts and matters but there is a big difference between defending a position and just getting belligerent
