for an adult claic, minimum 4 ft tank is recommended . they like the long swims. if youre gonna get a juvi, 3 ft IMO is the best for it. but youve also got to be prepared to either upgrade when it does get to be a larger size, or return it to lfs or trade it to someone who can properly house it.

also as jason said , there are some who have had success in regards to having it in a shorter tank . which can happen with any fish that comes with either minimum sizes or cautiions. ie dwarf angels that nip but sometimes dont.

ultimately its gonna be up to you. take the advice of anybody here, decide what you thinks best . because sometimes i know advice does fall on deaf ears. whether its good advice or not. just my 2 cents , but im still going with no unless its a 4 footer.

im also a bit appalled at the childish and uncalled for behavior of one of these posters. ive never seen this go on like this in what i deem to be completely uncalled for , and just shows true colors of someone. my experiences have been dealing with adult discussions on this site. is it possible to block certain members posts for good?

since you dont have the tank yet why not get a 90 that way it would comfortably house one tang, maybe even the purple :D

Hey Surfer Dude. Go read the comment I left you on her thread. Page 103, no hard feelings :) You need to relax. Take it easy, go out for a walk or something. This is the internet, it's not a huge deal, just chill "dude".
