Will these guys mix? I just added a purple tang 2". I was thinking about adding a fox face today. Before the tang gets settled in. Is it too late?

You should be ok with adding a Foxface, to go with your Purple Tang. Tangs are very peaceful except with their own species. Even then sometimes, if you get juveniles and put them in a tank together, they will be ok. Both the Foxface and Tang are good reef species. With any reef inhabitant, you are taking a chance of compatability between fish, coral or inverts. Because a particular fish is supposeto be compatable with another fish, coral or invert doesn't necessarily mean it's guaranteed. For example I have a 4 stripe damsel that leaves all my corals alone. Then one day I bought some Xenia, and noticed a day later that the polyps were missing. I then noticed my damsel was eating them...fortunately I had another tank to move the Xenia to(and polyps grew back and Xenia is doing very well), because unfortunately I can't get the damsel out of my reef tank. Too many place to hide without replication a hurricane in my tank...
Just keep you eye out for behavior patterns between the two fish!

Just beware that purple tangs can get very aggressive when they get bigger. My S.O.B purple tang is about 6" and chases my Copperband and much larger Moorish Idol around. He also spars with my Hipo tang. He was very peaceful when it was smaller. I've been looking for a new home for it.
