OK so I purchased a bunch of fish after i overcame my ich outbreak over a month and a half of being fishless.

    I purchased:
    Purple Tang
    Dragon Goby
    Black ocellaris clown
    reg ocellaris clown
    mandarn goby
    purple fire fish
    and couple cool lookin damsels.

My concern is the purple tang. Hes healthy, started eatin right away.
I know they say tangs should be your last fish added. But I had no choice since all fish were half off. Lfs has crazy sales like this once in a while. So I made the choice to save quite a bit and get him right away.

In the future will be able to add any other fish without any problems with my purple tang? not any other tangs... but chromis's, anthias's, wrasses.

If anyone has had success please reply

How big is your tank? That is an awful big bioload to add at once! Also do you have something like a refug to supply the mandarian?

My thoughts exactly. Just because you can get a good price doesn't mean you can add fish in an aquarium like that. If you are a 180g + then I think you will be fine but I bet yours is not that big. I would rather save the money to begin with as to having to flush fish down the drain with the money they cost.

Wish you the best of luck.

Actually I have a 90 gallon. I know its a big bioload addition. But most of the fish are pretty small. Purple tang is still a juvenile. so Im not too worried. I have a good protein skimmer. aqua euro 135.

for my mandarin I have dosed my tank with copepods about 5 months ago. so i know he should be ok.

I think you may have boxed yourself in as far as tangs that are the same size or smaller than the Purple Tang. They are extremely aggressive toward new tangs and angels. The thing is that they don't like sharing their vegetation with newcomers. I put a larger Sohal tang in my 210 and there was just a slight squabble. They are ok now. I put an African Hippo in along with the Purple and a Kole and I had no problem. After the Kole died I searched around until I found the right size Sohal Tang. Your pretty much gonna have to do the same thing. Also you have to make sure the new fish can handle himself with other fish. Better do it sooner than later.
Here is a picture of my Sohal, Purple and Hippo Tang along with the my Asphur Angel. They will grow together for years to come.
