You can't see from the pic but the tentacles near its mouth have neon green dots on them.... Soooooo trippy.... Also I've never seen a more veracious creature the second it catches something it gobles it up at a crazy speed. A small piece of grey shrimp tail fell near it and it swallowed it all up insane!

    Pretty Cerianthus you've got there!

I kept one for a good 10 years, in both reefs and FO setups, and it was a great addition.

Beautiful....how do they behave? Are they likely to roam or stay where placed?

They stay put they will move slightly as they build their tubes but nothing compared to the distances travelled by other nems. Also they propagate sexually and don't split like btas do

They're quite notorious for doing the same with livestock small enough to fit. I'd be cautious.

I never, ever had any trouble with Cerianthus predation, and there were several fish in residence that could have become lunch. IMHO/IME, this critter (it's not a true 'nem) has gotten a pretty bad rap, altho I suspect that if a specimen is starving, it will do what it takes to survive. A good squirt of mysis 3x a week was about all it took to keep mine healthy. I did occasionally offer it larger fare (krill, silversides).

Cerianthus CAN bail from their tubes if they aren't happy. They can also decide to poke themselves out of their tube in other spots along the tube (I've seen this happen).

+1 mine have stayed where I placed them and I've moved one around a bit (mea culpa). When you buy or try to move ( though it should be done the least possible) try to take the entire structure it created with it. This will save a lot of the energy needed for the creature to rebuild its tube. You will find the tissue like tube it threads is very strong but the nem can easily tear a new hole should it need to do so.

Never have had any issue with predation either
