well to add on to what i said purple up is definatley not a good amount of the suppliments you do need I do dose with kents, iodine, strontium, essential elements and i do use purple up every now and again. But once again definatley not enough of the nutrients you need if your dosing it alone.Mostly for the calcium

Purple Up is really good to use as a calcium additive. But thats it. There is nothing magical or anything like that. I do use it. I find it's easier to balance out all the ca, mg, and dKH levels with it for whatever reason. And at least at my LFS, its the same price as any other ca additive.
But I do full heartedly agree that proper ca, mg, and dkh levels is what brings you good coraline growth. There is no magic bottle that will do it all for you. But strictly as a ca additive to keep your params up, it works well IMO.

I have used both Purple up and MG / CA bulk adds.
The Purple up did start my Coraline growth when previously did not have any.

But now that I am using the Bulk Reef Supply two part, I must say I am much happier.
Cheaper in the long run, just as easy to use, and likley much better solution.

With any addatives, careful dosing and frequesnt testing for sure. With PU you need to be cautious of the Iodine levels as well. So if you use it, get an iodine test kit.

    Cheers

Dosing pure calcium is a heck of a lot cheaper and easier than using purple up to dose it. Contact Tangster or That Guy for a price.

I don't think anyone has mentioned that on the purple up bottle it tells you not to use it if your calcium is 420 or higher. I don't have any anymore but I think that is the right number.
